“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”  C.S. Lewis

It’s that time of the year again.  It has been a hot summer and the rides are becoming less serious (as if they were to begin with).  It is time to enjoy the ride.  I have been taking shorter and more enjoyable rides.  Stopping and looking at stuff.

The other day on the tow path I stopped and saw seven baby ducks huddled together.  It was cool.  Then I looked to the other side and the creek flowing into the river had a bunch of Big freakin fish swimming around.  Stuff I’d have missed if I was going faster.

The issue is that I should be amping my season back up.  If I am going to be participating in any cyclocross endeavors I need to be able to go WFO for 45 minutes before I get my barley reward.  I may reclaim my reputation of being that guy who goes out too hard and vomit’s all over himself.  Only time will tell.

In the mean time maybe I’ll go out and do intervals……….Probly not.
Maybe this is why the fine folks of the Pacific Northwest are good crosser’s.  They get extra vigor and strength with every drop.  May have to go pick up some Rainier.
